An extremely dry vintage that created mixed results. Those with grapes on clay and silt did far better than those on rocks and gravel which struggled to retain enough moisture. A cold snap in February caused significant damage to sensitive varietals, helping to naturally reduce yields. The growing season was warm and dry— in fact, the driest in recent history.
